Waltham Services becomes Green Certified
Waltham Services is proud to announce becoming the newest new GreenPro Certified Company in the Northeast. Waltham chose the GreenPro certification program after investigating several other green certification programs. The GreenPro program is administered and monitored by the Virginia based National Pest Management Association (NPMA). As a GreenPro company, Waltham has met standards that will allow consumers to be confident when choosing a green service. The GreenPro program has been recognized by the National Center for Healthy Housing and Natural Resources Defense Council. The GreenPro green service is a premium, rigorous and unique program featuring Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Richard Berman, Senior Entomologist and Technical Director said: “We chose to go through the GreenPro green certification process instead of several others because we felt this program was more rigorous and meaningful. A pre-requisite before we could even apply for green certification was complying with Quality Pro standards.”
Berman went on to say “Quality Pro standards are a rigorous set of business and ethics practices.”
Waltham Services has always believed in being a steward of the environment. Waltham was recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency in 1998 as an agent for change by changing pesticide use patterns.
Waltham Services was founded in 1893 in Waltham, Massachusetts by Frank “Bugs” Martin. The company entered the pest control industry formulating and distributing pest control products. Waltham subsequently became a service business, serving residential and commercial needs. Waltham services homes and businesses in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont as well as Western and Upstate New York.
