Pest control in Agawam, MA

Set in Hampden County, Agawam sits on the western side of the Connecticut River, directly across from Springfield. On May 15, 1636, William Pynchon purchased land on both sides of the Connecticut River from the local Pocomtuc Indians known as Agawam, which included present-day Springfield, Chicopee, Longmeadow, and West Springfield. The purchase price for the Agawam portion was 10 coats, 10 hoes, 10 hatchets, 10 knives, and 10 fathoms of wampum. Agawam and West Springfield separated from Springfield to become the parish of West Springfield in 1757; Agawam and West Springfield split in 1800. Agawam incorporated as a town on May 17, 1855. The name Agawam is variously speculated to mean “unloading place” and “fishcuring place.”

It’s no secret that Agawam has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. You can’t go to Agawam without visiting Six Flags®. Make sure to ride Cyborg™ Hyper Drive while there. It’s not for the faint of heart but if you’re into that sort of thing, it’s not to be missed. If you’re looking for something a little less intense to do, visit the pygmy goats, artic foxes, striped skunks, bald eagles and many more at The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center. One of the most popular destinations to visit in nearby Springfield are the Springfield Museums. Their five spectacular museums and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden are open and are ready to welcome enthusiastic visitors of all ages. No matter which path you take, make sure to come back to Agawam to have dinner at The Federal. It’s truly a unique experience. We suggest you definitely experience the lobster and corn chowder! Year round, people flock to Agawam to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Agawam, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest control services near you

Properly controlling pests in Agawam, MA should be done on a local level. Agawam’s pest issues are different than Cape Cod’s and way different than Vermont’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Waltham Pest Services. We have been servicing Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island for 130 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. And with a branch located right in Agawam, our technicians, customer services representatives, and everyone else that works at that location lives and works in the area, too. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.
As the Bay State, Massachusetts is known for having everything from beaches to cities to forests. Agawam is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Agawam, MA branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wooded areas around Meadowbrook Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Agawam can help, including:
