Celebrating Our Veterans

At Waltham Pest Services, supporting our nation’s veterans is more than a commitment. It’s a reflection of the values that guide our company every day. We recognize the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served in miliary, and we’re proud to celebrate their dedication, courage, and service to our country.

Veterans bring exceptional qualities to the workplace. Their leadership, discipline, integrity, and commitment to teamwork make them invaluable members of any organization. The skills developed through military service including problem-solving, adaptability, accountability, and a mission-focused mindset align closely with the values that drive our organization. We protect others, put their needs ahead of our own, do whatever it takes to get the job done, and act with bravery in tough situations to bring peace of mind to those we serve and to one another. Nobody does any of that better than a veteran.

At Waltham Pest Services, we deeply appreciate how our veterans show up with grit, courage, and purpose while contributing to our team and helping us deliver the high level of service our customers have come to expect. They also inspire their teammates and together they build something bigger than ourselves. So, when some of our current and previous teammates were going to be honored for their service, we wanted to shout it from the rooftops! Because our respect for veterans extends beyond the workplace.

Local veterans were honored on May 23rd (Memorial Day weekend) at Polar Park in Worcester, MA during the Rochester Redwings and Worcester Red Sox (Woosox) game. During the seventh inning stretch, Bill Burke (Waltham teammate 7/12/1971 – 10/31/2021), Dennis Gallagher (Waltham teammate 4/13/2015 – 12/13/2022), and Robert Knowles (current Waltham teammate since 4/3/2000) were honored for their selfless service to this country. Cary O’Connell (Waltham teammate 10/16/1978 – 9/14/2019) and Brian Bourgeois (also a current employee!) both attended the baseball game but not as honorees. They just went to support their friends and teammates. The team at Waltham is a family.

Celebrating others feels like a celebration for everyone. But Brian wanted to make everyone knows who to thank for this. Brian said, “All the credit goes to William Burke. Before Bill’s retirement, he was our supervisor. This is something he puts together a couple times a baseball season so that we all get together and keep in touch. There is already another date planned toward the end of August!”

Today and every day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our veterans. Their sacrifices have made our communities stronger and our nation safer. We are honored to support them, celebrate their achievements, and recognize the lasting impact they continue to make long after their military service has ended.

To all veterans including Cary, Bill, Dennis, and Robert: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication. Waltham Pest Services proudly stands with you.
