Filling a Local Food Pantry

At Waltham Pest Services, we make sure to go above and beyond for our customers. Of course, we keep them pest free and partner with them to make sure their homes and businesses are safe and healthy. But that’s our job. We take pride in it, but what we really want to do it make an impact. An impact on our customers and an impact on our community.

All year long, the Waltham team loves to give back. But around the holidays it seems to be even more important. So, when a customer of theirs, St. James Episcopal Church in New London, CT, needed help with a food drive, Waltham Pest Services jumped at the chance. St. James just seems to have the same values as Waltham Pest Services – their number one priority is helping people, too. Whether it’s providing solace during difficult times, hot meals, or making sure to stock their Food Pantry throughout the year, their charitable works are something Waltham Pest Services can get behind. So, when the team at the New London branch of Waltham Pest Services were wondering who to give back to this holiday season, St. James was a perfect fit.

And they were happy to help. “They do such great work for families in need,” Jeff Rapoza, Branch Manager, said. “We were proud to help out.” The entire branch participated, bringing in non-perishables until Jeff’s whole truck was filled to the brim. A few team members had to go with Jeff to help him unload it all at the food pantry! It was a good problem to have and a testament to the team at the branch.

Some may think what they did was remarkable, but hearing Jeff talk about it seems like it was all in a day’s work for Waltham Pest Services. Jeff told us, “We live and work in the community and the community does so much for each of us in many different ways that giving back and helping when we can is our way of saying thank you.” He even went on to say, “We truly get more out of this than we give.” That’s really the part we think is remarkable here. Anyone can donate food (and we hope they do – often), but to do it without needing or wanting to be thanked? That’s the way to truly make an impact on your community. Thank you to the whole team at the New London branch. You make us all look good.
