Pest control in Torrington, CT

Torrington is the most populated municipality and only city in Litchfield County. Torrington is a former mill town, as are most other towns along the Naugatuck River Valley. Torrington was first settled in 1735 by Ebenezer Lyman, Jr., of Durham, Connecticut. The downtown section of Torrington was known as Wolcottville, after the Wolcott family of Connecticut, which produced several governors between 1813 and 1881. Its early settlers resided on the hills west of the Naugatuck River where the first school, church, store, and tavern were constructed. Later, the eastern hill known as Torringford was settled, as it provided the best farmland. Torrington was given permission to organize a government and incorporate as a town in October 1740. The town is named after Torrington in Devon, England.

It’s no secret that Torrington has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. Downtown Torrington is home to the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, which trains ballet dancers and whose Company performs in the Warner Theatre, a 1,700-seat auditorium built in 1931 as a cinema by the Warner Brothers film studio. Downtown Torrington also hosts the largest Lodge of Elks in New England. Elks Lodge #372 supports many community activities and events. Make sure to check out KidsPlay Children’s Museum, a children’s museum which was founded in 2012 and expanded their location in 2015 after purchasing the adjacent building. We love watching kids learning through play! After all that fun, make sure to treat yourself to a meal at the delicious Salt 2.0 where the bowls are hearty, and the tacos are plentiful! Year round, people flock to Torrington to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Torrington, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest control services near you

Properly controlling pests in Torrington, CT should be done on a local level. Torrington’s pest issues are different than Cape Cod’s and way different than Vermont’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Waltham Pest Services. We have been servicing Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island for 130 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. And with a branch located in nearby Milford, our technicians, customer services representatives, and everyone else that works at that location lives and works in the area, too. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.
As the Constitution State, Connecticut is known for having everything from beaches to cities to forests. Torrington is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Milford, CT branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wood areas around Borzani Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Torrington can help, including:
