Pest control in Wolcott, CT

Wolcott is a town in New Haven County. The early towns of Waterbury and Farmington occupied a great deal of west-central Connecticut in the Naugatuck River Valley and Farmington River Valley at the end of the 17th century. At that time, the borderlands between these two towns were known as Farmingbury, a term derived from the two town names. People were living within the Farmingbury territory as early as the 1730s, but they possessed no official identity apart from the parent towns of either Waterbury or Farmington. By 1770, the residents of Farmingbury successfully petitioned the Connecticut General Assembly to create the First Ecclesiastical Society of Farmingbury. Having established an independent parish, Farmingbury gained some religious, legal, and financial independence from Waterbury and Farmington. However, the political boundaries of the region remained unchanged for more than two decades afterward. Farmingbury petitioned the Connecticut General Assembly in 1796, requesting that it be incorporated as an independent town, distinct from Waterbury and Farmington. Assembly votes were tied, with half in favor and half against the proposal. After the tie-breaking vote in favor of Farmingbury was cast by Lieutenant Governor Oliver Wolcott, the lands of Farmingbury were officially ceded by Waterbury and Farmington to the new town. In honor of the Lieutenant Governor’s deciding vote, the residents of Farmingbury renamed their newly incorporated town as “Wolcott.”

It’s no secret that Wolcott has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. A truly unique experience is Faith & Fire Forge. Be sure to attend an introduction to Blacksmithing and Basic and Advanced Knife-making classes. Try many different kinds of beers from many different companies at the Shebeen Brewing. It’s part of the Brewery Collective, an assemblage of the finest beers and brands in unique and event-worthy taprooms across Connecticut and Rhode Island and it’s not to be missed. After all that fun, have Italian done right at Mona Lisa Restaurant. It offers all the authentic Italian foods you have come to expect, but done right. Year round, people flock to Wolcott to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Wolcott, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

As the Constitution State, Connecticut is known for having everything from beaches to cities to forests. Wolcott is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Milford, CT branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wood areas around Peterson Memorial Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food!
