Pest control in Hollis, ME

Hollis is a town in York County. The town of Hollis was originally called Little Falls Plantation, which also encompassed all of the town of Dayton and a small part of Limington, namely the area south of the Little Ossipee River. It was bought in 1664 by Major William Phillips from Hobinowell and Mogg Hegon, sagamores of the local Abenaki Indians. In 1728, the Massachusetts General Court ordered that a combination trading post and stockaded blockhouse be constructed on the Saco River to conduct trade with the Native Americans. It was made crudely of logs and equipped with a cannon. Ten men and a sergeant garrisoned it. Farmers grew corn, potatoes, and hay in Hollis. Water powered mills were built along the Saco River at Hollis village, Bar Mills, Moderation Falls, North Hollis, and Bonny Eagle Falls. These included lumber mills, a spool factory, a woodturning mill, a wooden box factory, and the Saco River Woolen Company. The Portland and Rochester Railroad crossed the southern part of the town.

It’s no secret that Hollis has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. Make your way to Saco River Farms for local meats, fresh produce, and even raw, healthy dog food! During warmer months, make sure to head to nearby Funtown Splashtown U.S.A. for thrill rides, water rides, and even bumper boats! For dinner make sure to make your way to Low’s Variety for a ton of different kinds of pizza. Year round, people flock to Hollis to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Hollis, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest control services near you

Properly controlling pests in Hollis, ME should be done on a local level. Hollis’s pest issues are different than Cape Cod’s and way different than Vermont’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Waltham Pest Services. We have been servicing Maine, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island for 130 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. And with a branch located in nearby Scarborough, our technicians, customer services representatives, and everyone else that works at that location lives and works in the area, too. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.
As the Pine Tree State, Maine is known for having everything from cities to forests. Hollis is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Scarborough, ME branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wooded areas around Pleasant Point Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Hollis can help, including:
  • Bats
