Pest control in Wells, ME

Wells is a resort town in York County. The Abenaki Indians called the area Webhannet, meaning “at the clear stream” – a reference to the Webhannet River. Edmund Littlefield, an immigrant from the wool regions of Titchfield, England, built the first gristmill and later a woolen mill on the Webhannet River, becoming known as “The Father of Wells,” where a monument commemorates his contribution. In 1622, the Plymouth Company in England awarded to Sir Ferdinando Gorges, Lord Proprietor of Maine, territory which included the Plantation of Wells. His young cousin, Thomas Gorges, acting as deputy and agent, in 1641 granted to Rev. John Wheelwright and other settlers from Exeter, New Hampshire the right to populate the land from northeast of the Ogunquit River to southwest of the Kennebunk River. Following the death of the elder Gorges in 1647, the Massachusetts Bay Colony laid claim to Maine. On July 5, 1653, Wells was incorporated, the third town in Maine to do so, and named after Wells, England, a small cathedral city in the county of Somerset.

It’s no secret that Wells has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. Take in the full history of Maine at the Maine State Museum. Celebrate Maine’s role in American art at the Farnsworth Art Museum. Experience Maine’s seafaring history at the Maine Maritime Museum. After all that culture, sit down for a delicious dinner with stunning views at Hobbs Harborside where you can find all the traditional New England fare including steamed clams, crab cakes, seafood chowder, stuffed haddock. Year round, people flock to Wells to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Wells, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest control services near you

Properly controlling pests in Wells, ME should be done on a local level. Wells’s pest issues are different than Cape Cod’s and way different than Vermont’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Waltham Pest Services. We have been servicing Maine, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island for 130 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. And with a branch located in nearby Scarborough, our technicians, customer services representatives, and everyone else that works at that location lives and works in the area, too. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.
As the Pine Tree State, Maine is known for having everything from cities to forests. Wells is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Scarborough, ME branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wooded areas around Wells Harbor Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Wells can help, including:
