Pest control in Longmeadow, MA

Set in Hampden County, Longmeadow was first settled in 1644 and officially incorporated October 17, 1783. The town was originally farmland within the limits of Springfield. It remained relatively pastoral until the street railway was built in 1910, when the population tripled over a fifteen-year period. After Interstate 91 was built in the wetlands on the west side of town, population tripled again between 1960 and 1975. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, Longmeadow was best known as the site from which Longmeadow brownstone was mined. Several famous American buildings, including Princeton University’s Neo-Gothic library, are made of Longmeadow brownstone. In 1894, the more populous and industrialized “East Village” portion of the town containing the brownstone quarries split off to become East Longmeadow. Designed by famed golf course architect Donald Ross in 1922, the Longmeadow Country Club was the proving ground for golf equipment designed and manufactured by the Spalding Co. of Chicopee. Bobby Jones, a consultant for Spalding, was a member in standing at LCC and made a number of his instructional films at LCC in the 1930s.

It’s no secret that Longmeadow has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. One of the most popular destinations to visit in nearby Springfield are the Springfield Museums. Their five spectacular museums and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden are open and are ready to welcome enthusiastic visitors of all ages. Next, head over to White Lion Brewing Company for a flight of beer. For family fun, make sure to visit the pygmy goats, artic foxes, striped skunks, bald eagles and many more at The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center. After a day like that, sit down for a burger and a martini at Max Burger Bar. That’s a bar we can get behind! Year round, people flock to Longmeadow to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Longmeadow, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest control services near you

Properly controlling pests in Longmeadow, MA should be done on a local level. Longmeadow’s pest issues are different than Cape Cod’s and way different than Vermont’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Waltham Pest Services. We have been servicing Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island for 130 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.
As the Bay State, Massachusetts is known for having everything from beaches to cities to forests. Longmeadow is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Agawam, MA branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wooded areas around Greenwood Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Longmeadow can help, including:
