Hope Bowman Wins PWIPM of New England Women of Excellence Award!

On Thursday March 3, 2022, the PWIPM of New England awarded their 3rd Annual Women of Excellence Award. The winner was our very own Board Certified Entomologist, Hope Bowman. Hope joined Waltham Pest Services in 2019 as the Technical, Training, and Quality Manager covering the New England Market. She was previously an Entomologist at Western Pest Services in the Mid-Atlantic providing technical support, aiding in problem solving and insect identification, promoting quality service, and making Integrated Pest Management recommendations to customers. She was with Western Pest Services for 14 years before deciding to move back to New England. And now we are lucky enough to have her on our team.

Hope completed her Master of Science Degree at North Carolina State University in 2005 and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2001 at Connecticut College. She is a Board Certified Entomologist and has been on both the Board of the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania Pest Management Association and the New England Pest Management Association. Hope is a member of Pi Chi Omega which is an organization for entomologists providing scholarships for those interested in careers in pest control and Entomology.

In her personal time, Hope volunteers and tutors at the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford for English as a second language. Her focus on education and training is seen far beyond the pest control industry. She is also an advocate of education in the community having co-created the Waltham Services Academy™, an education-based program meant to teach the community about mosquitos and ticks and how to avoid them and the diseases they transmit. Sharing her expert knowledge is a passion for her and keeping her friends and neighbors safe and healthy is one way she can use that knowledge for good in the community.
