When Waltham Pest Services says they put people first, they really mean it. But their definition of “people” includes more than you may think. Recently, the team came together to focus on a new customer – the Hanover Food Pantry – in more ways than you may think.
The Hanover Food Pantry has been providing non-perishable food and staples to the people of Hanover, Massachusetts since 1992. They give the food with dignity and no questions asked. So, when they had a rodent issue that was proving difficult to manage, the rats and mice eventually made their way into the food pantry, damaging some of the shelf-stable foods they had available to those in need. The Hanover Food Pantry works completely on donations from the good people around the Hanover area, so replacing everything was just not in the budget for them. Enter Waltham Pest Services!
Waltham Pest Services was able to convince the people at the Hanover Food Pantry that they would be able to help them with their rodent issue. They were skeptical – and rightfully so. The rodents were out of control and the pantry (and the needy people in Hanover) paid the price. They weren’t skeptical for long, though! Waltham Pest Services was able to get control of the rodents, find where they were coming in, close up those entryways, and take care of the ones that had already gotten in. After all that, their commitment to this customer still went above and beyond their rodent problem. Imagine their surprise when Waltham requested a list of the pantry items they had to discard. This is where the Waltham team comes in!
Teams of two salespeople were given a budget and sent off to a local supermarket. The challenge was to get the most non-perishable foods and staples with the money they had so the shelves of the Hanover Food Pantry could be full once more. And boy did they! At the end of the day, the teams purchased over $1,000 worth of groceries. The director of the food pantry was surprised once again when the team dropped the items off. Connie Clow Zaylor of the food pantry noted, “We were thrilled to receive the substantial donation from our new community partner, Waltham Pest Services. We truly feel fortunate to have their support in maintaining a clean environment and for their generous contribution to the pantry.”
Waltham Pest Services may be in the pest control business, but their real focus is protecting others and putting others first. This is just one of the many ways they do just that.
